NOTE: In a system with two Controller cards, one Controller will have “Active” status and the other will have “Standby” status. A defective Controller card will have an “Unknown” status, indicating that the card is installed but not responding.

Determine Which Replacement Procedure to Use

3.Observe status of Controller A and Controller B.

4.If both Controllers are “Installed,” go to Replace Protected Controller Card on page 16-6.

5.If one Controller is “Not Installed,” go to Replace Unprotected Controller Card on page 16-13.

6.If one Controller is “Unknown,” it is assumed that the Controller is defective. Go to Replace Unprotected Controller Card on page 16-13.

7.If no status display appears, go to Replace Unprotected Controller Card on page 16-13.

NOTE: No status display can result from a loss of power or loss of management connection. If power and connections are okay, then one or both controllers may be defective, indicating that all provisioning data has been lost and must be re-entered or restored from a backup file.
