Remote Interfaces

The Access Bank II family can provide a variety of remote interface ports for voice and data services. Using set remote commands, the operator can remotely configure the settings of each interface to meet customer requirements. The following remote interfaces are available, depending on the specific product:

￿￿RS-232 Port – an RS-232 DTE customer interface for connection to a DS0 channel in the DS1 drop. This port supports baud rates from 1,200 to 57,600 between two Access Bank II’s and uses a special format to transport asynchronous data over the synchronous DS0 channel.

￿￿SDSL Port – a high-speed data network interface for connection to a SDSL router. The data rate depends on the number of DS0s (up to 16) assigned to the port. SDSL routers have automatic configuration, so no interface settings are required.

￿￿T1 Drop Port – a second T1 port cross-connects DS0s between its the DS1 drop are assigned by the in sequential order, starting at 1.
