ip rip send version [1 | 2]
Use the ip rip send version command to configure the RIP version the unit sends in all RIP packets
transmitted on the interface. Use the no form of this command to restore the default value.
Syntax Description
1Only transmits RIP version 1 packets on the interface.
2Only transmits RIP version 2 packets on the interface.
Default Values
By default, all interfaces transmit RIP version 1 (the default value for the version command).
Applicable Platforms
This command applies to the NetVanta 300, 1000R, 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 and Total Access 900
Series units.

Functional Notes
Use the ip rip send versio n command to specify a RIP version that ov errides the version (in the Router
RIP) configuration. See version [1 | 2] on page 1326 for more information.
The AOS only transmits one version (either 1 or 2) on a given interface.
Usage Examples
The following example configures the tunnel interface to transmit only RIP version 2 packets:
(config)#interface tunnel 1
(config-tunnel 1)#ip rip send version 2
