debug interface <interface>

Use the debug interface command to activate debug messages associated with the specified interface.
Debug messages are displayed (real time) to the terminal (or Telnet) screen. Use the no form of this
command to disable the debug messages.
Syntax Description
<interface> Activates debug messages for the specified interface. T ype debug interface ? for
a complete list of applicable interfaces.
Default Values
By default, all debug messages in the AOS are disabled.
Applicable Platforms
This command applies to the NetVanta 300, 1000, 1000R, 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 and
Total Access 900 Series units.

Release 3.1 Command was introduced.
Release 6.1 Command was expanded to include T1 and FXS interfaces.
Release 7.1 Command was expanded to include FXO interface.
Release 9.1 Command was expanded to include tunnel interface.
Functional Notes
The debug interface command activates debug messages to aid in the troubleshooting of physical
interfaces.
Usage Examples
The following example activates all possible debug messages associated with the Ethernet port:
