router ospf

Use the router ospf command to activat e OSPF in the router and to enter the OSPF Configuration mode.
Refer to the section Router (OSPF) Configuration Command Set on page 1301 for more information. Use
the no form of this command to disable OSPF routing.
Syntax Description
No subcommands.
Default Values
By default, OSPF is disabled.
Applicable Platforms
This command applies to the NetVanta 300, 1000R, 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 and Total Access 900
Series units.

Functional Notes
The AOS
can be configured to use OSPF with the fire wall enable d (using the i p fir ewa ll com mand) . To do
this, configure the OSPF networks as usual, specifying whic h networks the system will listen for and
broadcast OSPF packets to. Refer to ip firewall on page 413 for more informatio n.
To apply statef ul inspection to packets co ming into the system, create a pol icy class that describes the typ e
of action desired and then associate that policy class to the particular interface (refer to ip policy-class
<policyname> max-sessions <number> on page 437). The firewall is intelligent and will only allow OSPF
packet s that were received on an OSPF configu red interface. No modification to the policy class is required
to allow OSPF packets into the system.
