dial-backup force [backup | primary]
Use the dial-backup force command to manually override the automatic dia l-ba c ku p feature. This can be
used to force a link into backup to allow maintenance to be performed on the primary link without
disrupting data. Use the no form of this command to return to the normal dial-backup operation state.
Syntax Description
backup Forces backup regard le ss of prim ar y link state.
primary Forces primary link regardless of its state.
Default Values
By default, this feat ure is disa ble d .
Applicable Platforms
This command applies to the NetVanta 1000R, 3000, and 4000 Series units.

Usage Examples
The following example configures the AOS to force this endpoint into dia l-backup:
(config)#interface atm 1.1
