Chassis Fault Man agement

The Cha ssis Faul t Ma nage ment wi ndow displays ge nera l cha ssis availability det ails, Power Supply
information, T emperature information, and Fan information. You cannot configure any parameters in the
Chassis Fault Ma nage ment wi ndow, it i s a re ad o nly wind ow.
The EM, for the chassis object, provides fault management of the overall management connectivity and
the environmental aspects of the router. More detail s on manage ment co nnectivity ca n be found in
Chapter 18, Fault Mana gement. .
Environmental fault management is provided in the form of four tables that report the status of Power
Suppl ies , Volt age , Temp er at u re a nd Fan s w it hi n th e ch as s is. E ach t a ble co nta in s a St a te co lu mn tha t
indicate s the c urr en t stat e of ea ch te stpoint . Thi s can be eit her N or mal , Warning, Crit ica l, Shutd own or
Not Present. This functionality is supplemented by the processing of notifications from the Cisco
12000/10 720 Ro ut er. See Ch apter 18, Fault Management, for further infor mati on.
When an environmental fault is detected, then the recommended procedures documented at

12 should be followed.

Viewing the Chassis Fault Management Window

To view the Cha ssis Fault Ma na geme nt w indow, pr ocee d a s fo llows:
Step 1 Right clic k on the chas sis objec t and select the Fault>Fault Management option. See Table 4-1 on
page 4-2 for information on which objects al low you to launch the Chassis Fault Management window.
