Chapter 12 Managing ATM Connecti ons ATM Connection Synchronization
•Data has been provisioned onto the de vice via Cisco 12000/10720 Router Manager but a Write Mem
has not been pe rform ed. The device the n reboot s. The newly provisioned da ta is mode led in Cisco
12000/10 720 Route r Manager but not on the device.
•Auto synchronization is initiated automatically every 30 minutes on the device.
The poli cies tha t are available for ATM conne ction synch roniza tion ar e descri bed in the Table 12-2.
Device_is_Master (default policy)
The Device_is_Master policy creates new PVC connection objects in the EM, for the connections
av ailable on the device. In case connection object that is available in the EM is remov ed from the device,
then the Devic e_is_Master policy mo ve s the connect ion objec t into the de commissioned state during the
next synchronization. If the same object with the same configuration details is again added to the device,
the Device_is_Master policy identifies the object and moves it to the normal state. However if a new
connect ion o bj ec t is ad ded to the d evi c e wi th di ffer ent conf i gu ratio n deta ils, then th e D ev ice _is_Ma ster
policy create s the conne ction obj ect in the EM and moves it to the normal state. The ATM Connect ion
synchroniz atio n n ever deletes a ny ATM c onn ect ion obje ct.
