Manually Deploying Modules

This se cti on det ails the p ro cedur e to m an ually de ploy m odu les u si ng the Dep loymen t Wizard. You can
manually deploy modules before they are physically present (for details, see Pre-deployment section
on page 3-58). In this scenario, you need to manually deploy modules, as a subchassis discove ry will not
pick up their presence. You can also decommission these modules if you do not want activ e management
to be carried out on them.
Deployabl e modules includ e the following:
GRPs
Line cards (ATM, POS, Ethernet, DS-3, SRP or Modular Ethernet)
Tip Supportin g modul es, such as AC or DC power suppl y cards, fan tray modul es, and bl ower
modules, can only be deployed through subchassis discovery . You cannot manually deploy
these modules.
