Entering or Changing IOS CLI Username and Passwords

To enter or cha nge t h e IO S C LI usern ame or passwo rds, p roce ed as f oll ows:
Step 1 Open the Mana geme nt Inf orm atio n w ind ow. See Viewing the Ma nagem ent Infor mation Window
section on page 4-3 for fur ther detai ls.
Step 2 Choose the IO S/Command Line Security tab.

Step 3 Enter the login password (m anda tory). You must also ente r a username and the exec password.
Step 4 If you know the passwords that are set on the device:
Click Save Locally to save your passwords locally on the selected chassis. This changes the
passwords s tored w it hin Cisc o 1200 0/107 20 Rou ter Man ager o nly o r
Click Save to Device. This changes passwords both on the de vice and locally in Cisco 12000/10720
Router Manager. Click Save t o D e vice if you want to reco nfigure the pa sswords on the device, if
pre vious passwords ha ve been specif ied. This option will w ork only if pre vious valid passwords have
been saved locally.
Step 5 Click Save to save your changes .
