ATM PVC Configuration

Subscriber

The Subscriber area contains one field:
Subscrib er I D—Type in you r subscriber ID .

OAM Parameters

The OAM Paramete rs area cont ains the foll owing fields:
Manage—If this va lue is set to yes, then the value in frequency will be considered.
Frequency—Spe cify th e freq ue ncy ( in se conds ) t h at end -to- en d OAM loopba ck ce lls sho uld be
transmitted when a change in up or down state is being verified.
Retry Down Count—Spec ify the number of consecut ive end-to -end OAM loopback c ell res ponses that
are not received in order to tear down a PVC.
Retry Up Count—Specify the number of consecutive end-to-end OAM loopback cell responses that must
be rec eived in orde r to ch an ge a PVC co nne cti on sta te to u p.
Retry Freque ncy—If a PVC is up and a loopback cell response is not received after the specified
freq uency attribute, then loopback cells are sent at the retry frequency to verify whe ther or not th e PVC
is down.
Autodetect—If the value is set to yes, initiates auto-detection of the peer OAM command cells.
Optimum—If the value is set to yes, config ures an optimum mode so that when the traffic monitoring
timer expires, the PVC sends an OAM command cell at the locally configured frequency instead of going
into Ret ry m od e im medi atel y. If the re is no re sponse , the PV C goes i nto Ret ry m ode .
Actions
The Action area co ntains three buttons:
Connect—Allows you to connect the selected PVC, creating the connection on the device, making it real
and ac tive .
Disconnect—Allows you to discon nect the se lected PV C, disconn ecting the connect ion on the device,
making it inactive.
Decommission—Allows you to decom mission the selecte d PVC.

OAM Ping Tab

The OAM Ping tab displays an area, OA M Ping Parame ters.

OAM Ping Paramet ers

Timeout in seconds—Timeout interval. The default value is set to two seconds.
Repeat Count—Number of ping packets t hat are sent to the destination addr ess. The default value is set
to five.
Loopback—The type of the ATM OA M Ping opt ions. The availab le values are: end- loopbac k and
seg-loopback.
Last Ping Result—Status after the last ping operation for the selected PVC.
