The Sone t St at us Window displays five tabs: Med ium, Se ctio n, Lin e, Path , an d Virtual Tributary (not
applica ble to Cisc o 1 2000/ 107 20 Rou t er M an ager ).
Medium
The Medi um tab (se e Figure 9-5 on page 9-12 ) displays the following fields:
Type—Displays if the signal used across this interface is SONET or SDH.
Line Codin g—Type of lin e coding used in the inter face. Can be B3ZS fo r electric al SONET sign als or
NRZ for optical SONET signals.
Line Type—Li ne ty pe f or the inte rfac e. C an be shor t rang e singl e m ode , l ong ran ge sing le mode, o r
multi-mode for fiber interfaces; for electrical interfaces, it can be coax or UTP; and for all other line
types it will be other.
Valid Intervals—Number of previous intervals for which valid data is stored.
Ti me E la p se d—Time el apsed ( in sec onds ) a fte r t he st a rt o f the cu rr ent erro r-mea sure ment peri od.
Includes partial seconds.
Circuit ID—Transmission vendor's circuit identifier.
Section
The Section tab (see Figure 9-6 on page 9-13 ) displays th e following fields:
Loss of Signal—Presence or absence of signal loss in the SONET section.
Loss of Frame—Presence or absence of frame loss in the SONET section.
No Defect—Presence or absence of section defects.
Line
The Line tab (se e Figure 9-7 on pa ge 9-14) displays the following fields:
Alarm I ndic atio n Sign al—Presence or absence of alarm signals in the SONET line.
Remote Defect Indication—Presence or absence of remote defects in the SONET line.
No Defect—Presence or absence of line defects.
Path
The Path tab (see Figure 9-8 on page 9-15) displays the following fields:
Signal Label Mismatch—Presence or absence of signal label mismatch in the SONET path.
STS - Alarm Indication Signal—Presence or absence of alarm signal in the SONET path.
STS - Remot e Defe ct Indi cation —Presence or absence of remote defects in the SONET path.
STS - Loss of Pointer—Presence or absence of pointer loss in the SONET path.
Unequipped—Presence or absence of path equipment errors.
No Defect—Presence or absence of path defects.
