Launching th e Web Console
Another wa y to retrieve information fr om a device is through a we b browser using the Web Consol e
application.
To launch the Web Conso le ap pl icat ion, pr ocee d as fo llows:
Step 1 Right clic k on the chas sis objec t and select the Technology Specific Tools>Launch We b Conso le
option. Se e Ta ble 4-1 on page 4 -2 for information on which objects allow you to launch the W eb Console
appli cati on. A sec urity w indow ap pe ars.
Step 2 Enter t he r eq uire d use r ID a nd pa ssword. A cce ss to the C isco web conso le is now provided.
Configuration Editor
Note Th e login passwor d to the Cisco 12000 Seri es Router must be set on the Cisco 120 00/10720 Router
Manager to allow you to u pload, edit and then download the running configuration from a selected
chassis. See “Entering or Changing IOS CLI Use rname and Passwords” secti on on page 4-5 for furthe r
details.

The Config uration Editor allows you to perform the following:
•Upload the running configuration from a selected chassis and edit using the vi editor
•Download the ed ited configuration file to a selected chassis

Viewing the Configuration Editor Window
To v i ew the Configura tio n Editor w ind ow, procee d as fo l lows:
Step 1 Right click on the chassis object and select the Technology Specif ic Tools>Open Conf iguration Editor
option. See Tabl e 4 -1 on page 4 -2 for informa tion on whi ch object s allow you to launch the
Configurati on Editor window. The Configur ation Edit or window appears with th e Configuration Editor
tab disp layed.
