Deployment

The first step toward managing a Ci sco 12000/ 10720 Rou ter is to deploy or pre-d eploy the phys ical
objects tha t you want to man age. Depl oying a physic al object cr eate s a represen tative object in
Cisco E MF and as a resu lt, m akes the C isco 12000/ 1 0720 Ro ut er M ana ger ap pli catio n aware of the
physical obj ects presence.
Cisco 12000/10720 Router Manager objects can be discovered automatically or deployed manually. For
example, to deploy a chassis, you can use auto discovery or you can manually deploy the chassis. If you
wish to depl oy o bject s unde r the cha ssis, you can us e subc hassi s discovery o r ma nual ly d ep loy eac h
object (interfaces are automatically created when you deploy each line card).
If all or most of your chassis objects are physically present and if you have a large amount of objects to
deploy, you mi ght want to aut omate the se processe s by using auto disc overy. For example , if Cisco
12000/10720 Route r Manager is installed into an existing net work of Cisco 12000/10720 Routers, auto
discovery can dra mat ical ly re duce the amo unt of ope rato r i np ut r equi red. If you onl y want t o de ploy a
few objects or if many of your objects are not yet physically present, you might want to deploy manually.

The following supporting mod ules can be deployed using subchass is discovery only, no manua l
