Chapter 4 Managi ng Chassis Configuration Editor
Note If you receive an error message after clicking Upload, you might need to make sure
the tftpb oot ser ver is run ni ng on t he wo rkstat ion that Ci sco 1 200 0/107 20 Rou ter
Manager is running on. The tftpboot server must be running before you can upload
the running configuration. Make sure that the IOS username and password are set
correctly in the Management Information.

Searching in the Configuration Editor

To search using the configuration editor, proceed as follows:
Step 1 In the search criteria field, type in the text you wish to search for.
Step 2 Now, click Add. The text you spec ified appears in th e crit eria name box under the Selecti on area.
Step 3 Click Upload. A vi e di t o r wi n d ow appe ar s , w ith the runn i n g co nfiguration displayed. The f irs t instance
of the speci fied search cri teria is displayed.
Step 4 If you w an t to de lete your te x t f rom the cr ite ria name box, sim ply clic k on the text you want to d ele te in
the box, then click Delete.
Note Before downloading the modified running config, the vi editor launched with th e running
configurati on of the sele cted ch assis must be cl osed.

Downloading the Edited Configuration File to a Selected Chassis

After you hav e edited the running configuration, save the changes and click Download to do wnlo ad the
modified runni ng configuration to the select ed chassis. Th is new configuration is refl ected ont o the
startup co nfigurati on and the ru nning configura tion.

Configuration Editor Tab

The Configuration Editor tab (see Figure 4-18 on page 4-36) displays two areas: Selection and
Operations on Device.

Selection

Criteria Name—Any text strings you have searched for appear in this list.
Search Criteria—Enter search text into the search criteria data entry box. Click Add to move the text
string into the configuration criteria list.
