Chapter 16 MPLS VRF Management Creating and Configuring the VRF Policy on a Device
To configure and create a VRF policy on a selected device, proceed as follows:
Step 1 Right clic k on a chassis obj ect and ch oose Configuration >MPLS> VRF Configuration. See
Table 16-1 on pa ge 16-2 for infor mation on wh ich object s allow you to launch the VRF Configurat ion
window. Th e VRF Configurati on window appear s, with the VRF Con figuration tab displ ayed:

Step 2 Choose a Chassis and VRF f rom the list box di sp layed at t he l eft o f th e wind ow.
Step 3 Config ure the fields in the VRF Configuration tab as required. For further info rmation, see the VRF
Configuration WindowDetailed Description section on page 16-11.
Step 4 Choose the Save ic on on t he too lb ar to save your c hange s.
Step 5 Choose Create (located in the Device Actions area) to create (upload) the VRF policy to the chassis. A
status report app ears displaying whether the create action succeeded or failed. An error report will
appear if a VRF pol icy wi th sa me na me i s alre ady pr ese nt in t he d evice.
Note The Sta tus bar (at th e b ottom le ft o f the wi ndow) displays in for matio n ab out the c urrent stat e o f
the VRF Policy (VRF(1) indicates that the VRF policy is in the applied/uploaded state and
VRF(0) indicates that the VRF policy h as been removed from the device).
Once the VRF policy object is created and available in the device, it should be possible to
associate/disassociate that VRF object to/from the inter face which inh erits the CiscoVRFFunctio nality.
