Note Table 12-1 lists the menu options to launch the ATM Connections dialogs from the site level.
For example, the ATM QoS Profiles Configuration window can be launched from a Site, Chassis,
Module a nd int erfac e obj ect .
ATM Connection Sync hronization
The ide a behind the ATM Conn ecti on Synchroni zation is to provide a me chan ism to upda te the AT M
connection details stored in the Cisco EMF from the current conf iguration on a device. This is necessary
if the device is upda ted, for e .g., if a new ATM connecti on is added (o r removed) then th e Cisco EMF
should be able to re-read from the device and update the Cisco EMF by creating new objects if necessary .
The Synchronization process is initiated in the following circumstances:
•Every ti me th e chas sis i s com missi oned .
•When the chassis loses connectivity and again establishes connection with the device.
•Changes to device configuration made via SNMP requests from a source other than Cisco
12000/10 720 Rout er M ana ger.
•Changes to device configuration made via IOS CLI requests from a source other than the one that
has the Cisco 12000/1072 0 Router Mana ger runni ng.
