General Tab
The General tab displays three areas: General, SONET Overhead and IPS SONET.
General
The General area allows you to configure the following information:
Clock Source Allows you to c onfigure the c loc k so urce from availabl e opt ion s. Th is can e ith er be
interna l (w it hin the device) o r Line ( the net work c loc k).
LoopbackAll ows you to configu re t he l o opb ack mod e. I t i nd icates th e loop ba ck m ode fo r t he SRP
Side. The available op tions are: Di sabled, In ternal or Line
FramingAllows you to co nfigure SD H or SO NET type f raming. I t in dica te s the fr amin g m ode of the
side.
IPS Manageme nt Request ModeAllows you to configure the IPS management request mode for the
side. The available options are: noRequest, forced-switch, manual-switch, waitToRestore,
signalDegrad e, and sign al Fail.
Note The waitToRestore, signalDegrade and SignalFail modes cannot be set for the Interface, however the
user can view the values as they are read-only values.
SONET Ov erh ead
Path Signal IdentifierAllow you to co nfigur e th e pat h sign al i den tifier. T he p ermi ssible values ran ge
from 0 to 255.
Section T r ace ByteAllo ws you to conf igure th e section trace b yte. Th e permissible v alues are 0 to 255.
Note If the device ha s pre -d efined de fault values for the Path Signal Identifier and Section Trace Byte
parameters, the same values are displayed in this area when the window is opened.

IPS SONET

ProtectedAllows you to c onfigure th e Prote cte d mo de. T he available opti on s a re: e na ble and di sabl e
SD Threshold <3-9> (in 10e-)Allows you to select the Signal Degrade threshold value in 10e-,
between 3-9
