You will see the following entries related to the Syslog configuration:
logging history size 10

This pro vides summary in formation on the loggin g facilit ies, the number of me ssages sent/dropped ,
etc.
Syslog can be con figured from the Ci sco 12000/ 10720 Rou ter Manag er. Right clic k on the chas sis
objec t and select the Fault > Syslog Messa ges opt ion. You can configure the foll owing Syslog
options:

Maximum Table Entries—Displays the upper limit on the number of entries that the area can
contain.

Minimum S y s Lo g S eve ri ty—Any message with a severity less than this one will be ignored by
the agent. This field can be set to emergency, alert, critical, error, warning, notice, info, or
debug.

Notifications Enabled—Displays whether Syslog SNMP notifications are enabled or not
enabled.

BGP Configuration

Q.
The GSR is co nfigured for BG P but the BGP Configurati on GUI display s ERRO R on most of the
settings. Th e GSRs
Decommi ssioned the n commissio ned GSRs aga in. Settin gs are seen on BGP Configurati on GUI.

Make sure you have IOS Login and En able password s configured in the EM S. Right cli ck on the
chass is object and ch oose Configuration > Management Information. You configure the
passwords on the IOS/Comma nd Line Secur ity tab.

ATM Sub-Interface Configuration

Q.
Where do I find AT M sub-inte rface configuration? The ATM Inte rface Configuration GUI gives no
such information.
A.

View. In ord er to invo ke the ATM VC L Configura tion win dow, g o to t he C omp one nt Mana ge d
View, then right-click on a selected interface, then choose Cisco 12000 /1072 0 M anag er >
Configurat ion > ATM > VCL Configurat ion.

ATM IP Configuration GUI Display ERROR Settings

Q.
Though we have the ATM IP settings for an ATM port on the ATM IP Configuration GUI, it
displays ERROR for all settings.
A.
Make sure you have IOS Login and Enable passwords configured in the Cisco 12000/10720 Router
Manager. Ri ght click on t he chassis obj ect and choos e Configuratio n > Management
Information. Choose the IOS/Command Line Security tab.
