SVC Configuration
Step 2 Choose the Chassis, Module, Interface, and Connections (SVC) from the list boxes at the left of the
window.
Enter the relevant values in the tab, using the drop-down lists and data entry boxes. For a detailed
description of the fields within this tab, see SVC Configuration WindowDetailed Description
section on page 12-3 8.
Step 3 Click the Save icon to save the change s made.

Connecting or Disconnecting an SVC

Connec tin g an SVC creates th e SVC o n the d evice and m akes it a real, w o rk ing conne ctio n . Th e SVC is
also c ommi ssione d a t t his t ime, w hic h all ows you to m anag e c onfigurati on and stat u s det ails.
Disconne cting a n SVC di scon nect s th e co nnec tion e nti rely fro m the device.
To connect or disc onnect an SVC:
Make sure that the SVC you want to connect or disconnect is selected in the list boxes at the left of
the window.
Click the Connect or Disconnect button in the Action area.

Decommis sioning or Re commis sionin g an SVC

When you connect an SVC, it is automatically commissioned as well. Decommissioning does not
disconnec t the SVC.
To decommission a connected SVC:
Make sure that the SVC you want to de commis sion is selec ted in the list boxes at the left of the
window.
Click Decommission in the Action area. The SVC is placed into the Decommissioned state.
Once you have deco mmissi o ned a co nne cte d SVC , you mi gh t want t o rec ommi ssion it , wh ich
re-estab lishes ma nagement on the connec tion. To rec ommissi on a decomm issione d SVC, simply cli ck
Connect.
