ATM PVC Configuration

Decommis sioning or Re -Commis si oning a PV C

When you connect a PVC, it is automatically commissioned as well. Decommissioning does not
disconnec t the PVC.
To decommission a connected PVC:
Make sure that the PVC you want to de commis sion is selec ted in the list boxes at the left of the
window. You can choose multiple PVCs if desired.
Click the Decommission button in the Action area.
Once you have decommissio ned a con nected PVC , you might want to comm ission it again. To
re-commission a PVC, simply c lick Connect and the connection is commissioned.

ATM OAM Ping

The ATM OAM Ping fe atu re i s used t o se nd an O pe rat ion, Ad mini stra ti on, a nd Maint ena nce (OAM)
packet to ver ify Perman ent Virtual Circuit (PVC) connec ti vity. The stat us of the PVC is display ed when
a response to the OAM packet is received. The ATM OAM Ping feature supports interactive ping
functionality.
This fea ture provid es two ATM OAM ping options:
End lo opb ac kVerifies the end-to-end PVC integrity.
Segment loopbackVerifies the PVC integrity to the neighboring ATM device.
Note A PVC must already be configured for the virtual path identifier (VPI) and virtual channel identifier
(VCI) values.
To initiate an ATM OAM Ping, proceed as follows:
Step 1 Right-click on a selected interface, then choose Cisco 12000/10720 Manager>C onfiguration>
ATM>VCL Configuration. The ATM VCL Configuration window appears, with the Configuration tab
displaye d. Cl ick o n t he OAM Ping tab.
Step 2 Enter valid values for t he Timeout and Re peat C oun t fields. Se lec t t he End Loop ba ck typ e an d cl ick
Ping.
