Interface Performance

There ar e two perfo rman ce opti ons in Cisco 12 000/1072 0 Router Ma nager: the In terface Perf ormanc e

windows and t h e Per for manc e M anag er appli cat ion . Perfor ma nce Man ag er disp lays hi stor ical dat a a s

well as cur rent data in the form of a line chart, bar char t, or table; Inter face Performance windo ws display

only curr ent dat a in a raw nume rical for mat.

Interfaces on line cards can support multiple technologies. Performance windows are

technol ogy-spe cific. For exampl e, a POS int erfac e su ppor ts t wo tec hnol ogie s: G ene ric and SONE T.

Theref ore, to view the performa nce of a POS inte rface, you need to view two windows: the Gene ric

Interfa ce Perf ormanc e wind ow, and the SONE T Interfa ce Perf orma nce win dow.

This same process is applicable to all different types of interfaces: POS, DS-3, ATM, SRP or Ethernet.
