Deleting an Existing POS Interface Profile

To delete an existing POS Interface profile, proceed as follows:
Step 1 Choose the C isco 12000/ 10720 M anage r>Configuration>POS>C onfiguration Profile option from a
POS interface object. See Table 7-2 on page 7-2 for information on which objects allow you to launch
the POS Profile Dialog window.
Step 2 Choose Edit > D elete Pr o fil e . Choose the profile you wish to delete from the list displayed. A Deletion
Prompt windo w appears (see Figure 7-10) for you to confirm that you wish to delete the selected profile.

Step 3 Click Yes to delete the selected profile or click No to close the window with out deleti ng the profile.
When a prof ile is deleted it disap pears from the list o f existing profiles displa yed in the POS Profil e list
at the left of the window.

POS Profile WindowDetailed Description

The POS Interface Configuration window displays a single POS Config tab.

POS Config Tab

The POS Config tab displays four areas: General, SONET Overhead, Alarm Reporting & Threshold and
Alarm Reporting.
General
The General area allows you to configure the following information:
POS SPE ScramblingAllows you to enabl e or disable PO S SPE scrambling. T he Disab led option is
selected by default.
LoopbackAll ows you to se lec t t he lo opb ack mo de. Op tio ns available are : D is abled , I nter na l or L ine .
Clock Source Allows you to choo se clock sou rce from available opti ons. There is a clock in every
device, whi ch m e asu re s the s pee d of t he d evice. Th is c an e ith er be Int ern al ( with in the device) or Lin e
(the network clock).
KeepaliveAllows to set keepalive period. The system sends packets to know if the interface or the
network is up for routing pac kets. By default it is 10 secon ds.
POS FramingAllows you to select SDH or SONET type POS framing .
