Chapter 12 Managing ATM Connecti ons ATM PVC Configuration

The OAM Informatio n area is not app licable to Cisco 12000 /10720 Rout er Manage r.

Layer 3 Configuration Tab

The Laye r 3 Configuratio n tab (see Figure 12-26) contains the following areas:
•VCL Config
•Interface
•VCL Parameters
•VPI/V CI (inc luding A uto Sug ge stio n f eatur e)
•Subscriber
•OAM Paramete rs
•Actions

VCL Config

The VCL Config area contains one field:
Encapsulation—The following values can be selected for this field:
•None—No encapsulation is selected.
•ILMI—Used for setting up an ILMI PVC in an SVC en vironment. In an SVC environment, you must
configure a PV C f or c omm un ic ati o n wi th th e IL MI s o th at th e rou ter c an r ece ive SNMP t r ap s a nd
new network prefixes.
•Qsaal—This signaling PVC can only be set up on ATM main interfac es, not on ATM sub-interfa ces.

Interface

The Interface area contains one field:
Sub-In terfa ce Num be r—T he subinterfac e number un der which t his PVC is deployed.

VCL Parameters

The VC L Param eters ar ea co ntain s the fol lowing fields:
AAL5 Encapsulation—Configure the ATM adaptation layer (AAL) 5 encapsulation type.
Destination IP Address—Enter the IP address of the destination interface to which you want to pass
traffic.
Broadcast—Choose yes if you want to send duplicate bro adc ast packets for all protocols configured on
a PVC .

VPI/VCI

The VP I/VCI ar ea co ntains one field:
