VLAN Synchronization

VLAN Synchronization

VLAN synchronization is provided to synchronize the EM with the VLAN information present in the
network. Th e syn chron iza tio n proce ss get s the VLA N inf orma tio n from t he devices in the network a nd
all the pre vi ous VLAN informa tion is lost. Once t he VLAN synchr onization is co mpleted, all the VL AN
objects a nd the sub-int erface s are deployed und er a DefaultDomain. See “VLAN View” section on
page 2-12 for more detai ls on domai ns.
Note It is re commen ded that synchroni zation should not to be pe rform ed at a time when there is he avy load
on the system i.e., when all the chassis are in the performance logging state.
The first time sync is a clean sync which means that the VLAN information from the entire network is
cleaned up and then retrieved.

To sync hr onize th e V LAN ob ject s, proc eed as fo l lows:
Step 1 Right clic k on a domain in the VLAN view and choose Ci sco 12 000 /1072 0 Manager >
Configuration>VLAN Management>Synchronize. The VLAN synch ronizat ion dialog can be
launched from the VLAN view or see Table 13-1 on page 1 3-2 for information on which objects allow
you to lau nc h th e VLA N Syn ch ronize w ind ow.
