Deleting an Existing HSRP Interface Profile
To delete an existing HSRP Interface profile, proceed as follows:
Step 1 Choose the C isco 12000/ 10720 Manage r>Configuration>IP> HSRP Configuration Profile opti on
from an Ethernet inte rface object. See Table 7-2 on page 7-2 for infor mation on which obje cts allo w you
to launch the HSRP Profile window.
Step 2 Choose Edit > D elete Prof il e. Choose the profile you wish to delete from the list displayed. A Deletion
Prompt win dow appea rs (see Figure 7-7) for you to confirm that you wish to dele te the selected profile.

Step 3 Click Yes to delete the selected p rofile or click No to c lose the wi ndow without deleti ng the profile.
When a profile is delete d it disappear s from the l ist of existing profiles displaye d in the HSRP Profile
list at the left of the window.

HSRP Profile Parameters Area
The HSRP Profile Parameters area allows you to configure the following information:
Group Number—The group number on the interface for which HSRP is being activ ated. Standby routers
are group ed and as signe d a group num ber.
Standby Priority —Displays the standby priority for the interface. Standby priority can be set to:
Enabled—W hen the current interface fails it automatically switches to the standby interface.
Disabled—When the current in terface fails it does not switch to a standby interface.
Standby Authentication—Allows you to e na ble or d isabl e t he stand by au then tica tio n str ing. Opt ions
available are:
Enabled—It will check for the auth entication string set and will al lo w you to conf igure the in terface
on presenc e of the set string.
Disabled—I t will not ch eck for an authen tica tion stri ng.
Standby Hello Time [1-255]—Enter the hello interval in seconds (1 to 255). The default time is 3
seconds.
