Generic Parameters Tab
The Generic Parameters tab contains a single Generic Parameters area.
Generic Paramet ers
The Generic Parameters area contains the following fields:
IP Addre ss—I P a ddr ess fo r th e sele ct ed int erfac e.
Subnet Ma sk—Address ma sk for the selecte d interface.
Maximum Transmission Unit—Maximum packet size, in by tes, that the selected interface can handle.
IP Maximum Tra nsmission Unit—Maximum packet size, in bytes, that the se lected IP interface can
handle.
Interfa ce Sta t e—Choose th e interface state to be used from the drop down list.
Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) —Enable or disable CDP on the interface. CDP allows a device to
advertise its existence to other devices and receiv e information about other devices on the same LAN or
on the rem ote side o f a WAN.
IP Multicas t Fast Switching—Enable or disable IP Multicast Fast Switching on the interface.
POS Interface Configuration
The POS Interface Configuratio n window allows you to configure a selected POS Interface.

Viewing the POS Interface Configuration Window
To view the POS Interface Configuration window, proceed as follows:
Step 1 Right-click on a selected POS line card or POS interface, then choose Cisco 12000/1 072 0
Manager>Configuration>POS>Configuration. The POS Interface Configuratio n window appears.
