DHCP Pool Command Set

 

 

dns-server<address> <secondary>

Use the dns-servercommand to specify the default primary and secondary Domain Name System (DNS) servers to use for the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) client. Use the no form of this command to remove the configured DNS server.

Syntax Description

<address>

Specifies the address (in dotted decimal notation) of the preferred DNS server on

 

the network (example: 192.72.4.254).

<secondary>

Optional. Specifies the address (in dotted decimal notation) of the second

 

preferred DNS server on the network (example: 192.100.4.253).

Default Values

By default, there are no specified default DNS servers.

Usage Examples

The following example specifies a default DNS server with address 192.72.3.254 and a secondary DNS server with address 192.100.4.253:

(config)#ip dhcp-server pool MyPool (config-dhcp)#dns-server 192.72.3.254 192.100.4.253
