Tunnel Configuration Command Set

 

 

ip address <address> <mask> secondary

Use the ip address command to define an IP address on the specified interface. Use the no form of this command to remove a configured IP address.

Syntax Description

<address>

Defines the IP address for the interface in dotted decimal notation (for example:

 

192.22.73.101).

<mask>

Specifies the subnet mask that corresponds to the listed IP address.

secondary

Optional. Keyword used to configure a secondary IP address for the specified

 

interface.

Default Values

By default, there are no assigned IP addresses.

Command Modes

(config-interface)#

Interface Configuration Mode

 

Valid interfaces include: Ethernet (eth 0/1), PPP virtual interfaces (ppp 1), HDLC

 

virtual interfaces (hdlc 1), Frame Relay virtual sub-interfaces (fr 1.20), tunnel

 

interfaces (tunnel 1), and VLAN interface (vlan 1).

Usage Examples

The following example configures an IP address of 192.22.72.101/30:

(config)#interface tunnel 1

(config-tunnel 1)#ip address 192.22.72.101 255.255.255.252
