Functional Notes

The ProCurve Secure Router has the ability to operate using the rapid spanning-tree protocol or the legacy 802.1D version of spanning-tree. When a BPDU (bridge protocol data unit) of the legacy version is detected on an interface, the ProCurve Secure Router automatically regresses to using the 802.1D spanning-tree protocol for that interface. Issue the clear spanning-treedetected-protocolscommand to return to rapid spanning-tree operation.

Usage Examples

The following example re-initiates the protocol migration process on eth 0/2:

>enable

#clear spanning-tree detected-protocols interface ethernet 0/2

The following example re-initiates the protocol migration process on all interfaces:

>enable

#clear spanning-tree detected-protocols
