PPP Interface Configuration Command Set

 

 

backup connect-timeout <seconds>

Use the backup connect-timeoutcommand to specify the number of seconds to wait for a connection after a call is attempted before trying to call again or dialing a different number. It is recommended this number be greater than 60. For more detailed information on PPP backup functionality, refer to the Functional Notes and Technology Review sections of the command.

Syntax Description

<seconds>

Selects the amount of time in seconds that the router will wait for a connection

 

before attempting another call (valid range: 10 to 300).

Default Values

<seconds>60 seconds

Usage Examples

The following configures the Secure Router OS to wait 120 seconds before retrying a failed backup call:

(config)#interface ppp 1

(config-ppp 1)#backup connect-timeout 120
