Frame Relay Interface Config Command Set

 

 

frame-relay intf-type <type>

Use the frame-relayintf-typecommand to define the Frame Relay signaling role needed for the endpoint. Use the no form of this command to return to the default value.

Syntax Description

<type>

Specifies the Frame Relay interface types as DTE, DCE, or NNI

dce

DCE or Network signaling role. Use this interface type when you need the unit to

 

emulate the frame switch.

dte

DTE or User signaling role. Use this interface type when connecting to a Frame

 

Relay switch (or piece of equipment emulating a frame switch).

nni

Configures the interface to support both network and user signaling (DTE or DCE)

 

when necessary.

Usage Examples

The following example configures the Frame Relay endpoint for DCE signaling:

(config)#interface frame-relay 1 (config-fr1)#frame-relay intf-type dce
