Global Configuration Mode Command Set

 

 

ip sntp source-interface <interface>

The ip sntp source-interfacecommand to use the specified interface’s IP address as the source IP address for SNTP traffic transmitted by the unit. Use the no form of this command if you do not wish to override the normal source IP address.

Syntax Description

<interface>

Enter the interface to be used as the source IP address for SNTP traffic.

 

Type ip sntp source-interface?for a complete list of valid interfaces.

Default Values

No default value is necessary for this command.

Functional Notes

This command allows you to override the sender field in the IP packet. If you have multiple interfaces in your unit, changing the sender tells the receiver where to send replies. This functionality can also be used to allow packets to get through firewalls that would normally block the flow.

Usage Examples

The following example configures the unit to use the loopback 1 interface as the source IP for SNTP traffic:

(config)#ip sntp source-interface loopback
