ip name-server<server-address1> [server-address2....server-address6]

Use the ip name-servercommand to designate one or more name servers to use for name-to-address resolution. Use the no form of this command to remove any addresses previously specified.

Syntax Description

<server-address1-6>Enter up to six name-server addresses.

Default Values

By default, no name servers are specified.

Global Configuration Mode required

Usage Examples

The following example specifies host 172.34.1.111 as the primary name server and host 172.34.1.2 as the secondary server:

(config)#ip name-server 172.341.1.111 172.34.1.2

This command will be reflected in the configuration file as follows: ip name-server 172.34.1.111 172.34.1.2
