Tunnel Configuration Command Set

 

 

ip ospf network [broadcast point-to-point]

Use the ip ospf network command to specify the type of network on this interface.

Syntax Description

broadcast

Sets the network type for broadcast.

point-to-point

Sets the network type for point-to-point.

Default Values

By default, Ethernet defaults to broadcast. PPP, Frame Relay, and tunnel default to point-to-point.

Command Modes

(config-interface)#

Interface Configuration Mode

 

Valid interfaces include: Ethernet (eth 0/1), PPP virtual interfaces (ppp 1), HDLC

 

virtual interfaces (hdlc 1), Frame Relay virtual sub-interfaces (fr 1.20), tunnel

 

interfaces (tunnel 1), and VLAN interface (vlan 1).

Functional Notes

A point-to-point network will not elect designated routers.

Usage Examples

The following example designates a broadcast network type:

(config)#interface tunnel 1 (config-tunnel 1)#ip ospf network broadcast
