Server file aggregation
ADSM allows small client files to be combined and stored
as larger aggregated files. Aggregation can improve
performance and reduce database overhead. See ADSM

¶AIX
Device support has been enhanced to allow ADSM to
use the following devices:
vIBM 3570 tape devices.
vOptical devices that use 12-inch and 14-inch
write-once optical cartridges.
vDTF tape devices.
vTape devices that are supported byAIX device
drivers (instead of ADSM device drivers). These
devices have the device type of GENERICTAPE.
A LABEL LIBVOLUME command allows you to label
and check in volumes to an automated library in one
step.
¶Windows NT
Device support has been enhanced to allow ADSM to
use the following devices:
vIBM 3570 tape devices
vOptical devices that use 5.25-inch rewritable optical
cartridges and 5.25-inch write-once optical cartridges
vDTF tape devices
