There is no test to clear these errors. The error counter is decremented by
1 every 15 minutes.
b. This error indicates that the primary sig naling channel con nection has
been lost for more than 90 second s. If a secondary signaling channel
does not exist or is not in-service, the as sociated B-channels will b e
placed in the ISDN Maintenance/Far-End state. The B-c hannels will not be
usable for outgoing c alls, although incoming calls will still be acc epted.
The switch will automatically attempt to recover the signaling link. Pay
particular attention to the results of Test #636 (Primary Signaling Link
Hardware Check) in the test sequenc e. When the link does recover, the
B-channels will be negotiate d back to the In-Service state and their alarms
will be retire d .
When this error occurs, the state of the Signaling Group is changed to
out-of-service (verify using the stat us sig-group command).
c. This error indicates that the second ary signaling channel connection has
been lost for more than 90 seconds. If th e primary signaling c hannel is not
in-service, B-channels will b e placed in the ISDN Maintenanc e/Far-End
state. The B-channels will not be usabl e for outgoing calls, althoug h
incoming calls will still be accepted . The switch will automatically attempt
to recover the signaling lin k. Pay particular attention to the results of Test
#639 (Secondary Signaling Link Hard ware Check) in the test sequence.
When the link does recover, the B-channels will be negotiated b ack to the
In-Service state and their alarms will b e retired.
When this error occurs, the state of the Signaling Group is changed to
out-of-service (verify using the stat us sig-group command).
d. This error indicates a failure of the Layer 2 Status Query Test for the
primary signaling c hannel
e. This error indicates a failure of the Layer 2 Status Query Test for the
secondary signa ling channel.
f. A specific message was sent to the far-e nd switch, and it did not respond
within the allotted time. Investigate el ements of the ISDN PRI D-channel(s)
(ISDN-LNK, ISDN-PLK, ISDN-SGRP, PKT-INT, PKT-CTRL) for both this
switch and the Far-end switc h. If Test #637 fails twice in a row, the
B-channels will be alarmed and made unavailable fo r outgoing calls
(although incoming c alls will still be acc epted). When Test #637 succeeds
and the Far-end switch starts resp onding properly, the DS1 ISDN Trunk
(B-channels) will be pla ced back into nor mal operation and their alarms
will be retire d .
g. A SERV or SERV ACK ISDN D-channel message has been received by a
non-US-type interface (country op tion other than 1 on the DS1
administration form). However, these messag es are used only for duplex
NFAS signaling which is supported only by country protocol 1.
Thus, there may be a mismatch in administrati on between the local and
far-end switches. Consult with the c ustomer’s network provider to
determine whether the D-channel is set up correctly on the far-end switc h.
