reset io-processor
This command resets and initializes the IO-Processor ha rdware and firmware.
The IO-Processor supports the pac ket interface and Data Channel data
scanners. The IO-Processor is simply reset. Failure of the reset can le ad to the
processor being placed in the out-of -service state.
!CAUTION:

Resetting the IO-Processor (which also resets the pac ket interface and

Data Channel data scanner) is d isruptive. ISDN call service throug hout the

system is disrupted, and some data may be lost on Data Channel

communications during the reset interval.

This command resets the Processor Interface c ircuit pack, read s its associated
software from tape, restarts applic ations processes, re-estab lishes permanent
switched calls, and sets up each enab led link. If the interface c annot be
established, a Major alarm raises on the interface and all enab led links
deactivate. When the Message Server Adjunc t (MSA), Distributed
Communications System (DCS), Audio Information Exchang e (AUDIX), or Call
Management System (CMS) are initially administered, li nks for these applica tions
and submitting the form restar ts the interface. Before Processor Interfac e circuit
packs are replaced , technicians must p ower down the switch and restart it.
