DEFINITY ECS Release 8.2 Maintenance for R8.2csi
555-233-119 Issue 1
April 2000
Maintenance Objects
3-1289XXX-BD (Common Port Circuit Pack)
3
If the circuit pac k is not in the system, insert a circuit p ack (in the same
slot as the error indicates) to resolve this error. Or, if the c ircuit pack is in
the system and the red LED is on, follow the instruc tions for "Red (alarm)"
in the ‘‘Control and Port Circuit Pack Status LEDs’’ section in Chapter 1,
‘‘Maintenance for csi systems’’
b. This error indicates the circuit p ack has been b usied out. Release the
circuit pack via release board PCSS.
c. The circuit pack has b een logically ad ministered but not p hysically
installed. The alarm should clea r when the circuit pac t is installed.
If the circuit pac k is already installed:
1. Run test board PCSS long and look at any test failures or error
codes generated .
2. If the test does not clear error 23, then execute r ese t boa rd PCSS
and run the long test again.
3. If the reset/test does not clear error 23, replac e the circuit pac k.
d. A wrong circuit pac k is inserted in the slot where this c ircuit pack is
logically administered . To resolve this problem, either remove the wrong
circuit pack and insert the logically ad ministered circuit p ack OR use the
change circuit-pack command to readminister this slot to matc h the
circuit pack ins erted.
e. This error indicates transient communication p roblems with this circui t
pack. This error is not service-affec ting and no action is required.
f. This error, when reported with Aux data in the range o f 4352 to 4358,
indicates that the circ uit pack has reported an on-board hardwa re failure.
The circuit pack c ontinuously tests the hardware and rep ort the results
approximately every 10 minutes. If the hard ware problem is resolved, the
"leaky bucket" strategy should clear the alarm in approximately 30
minutes. However, if the alarm does NOT clear in 30 minutes , the circuit
pack should be replaced.
g. This error can be ignored, b ut look for other errors on this circuit p ack.
h. This error is not service-affecting and no ac tion is required.
i. This error indicates that no ringing c urrent is detected. Run Test #51,
Ringing Applic ation Test, and follow the procedures for Test #51. This error
is only applicab le to Analog Line circ uit packs.
j. The hyperactive circuit p ack is out-of-service and may exhibit one or more
of the following symptoms:
1. The common circuit pack le vel tests such as Test #51 and/or Test
#220 are aborting with error cod e 2000.
2. The tests run on the ports of this circuit pac k are returning with a
NO-BOARD.
3. A busyout/release of the circuit pac k has no affect on test results.
