ADM-CONN (Administered Connection)
An Administered Connection p rovides an end-to-end c onnection between two
access endp oints or data modules. This connect ion is automatically established
when the administered connec tion is administered and is d ue to be active. An
error is logged when an a dministered connection c annot be established or when
an established administered connection fails. An alarm is log ged when a
connection cannot initi ally be established or fails and cannot be reestablished .
An alarming strategy is sup ported on a per ad ministered connection b asis. An
alarm is raised for a connec tion when either the number of consec utive failed
attempts to establish the con nection reaches the alarm threshold or it c an be
determined that a failed attempt to establish was due to an ad ministered error.
The alarm raised ("major," "minor," "warning," or "none") is specified in the "Alarm
Type" field of the Administered Connection Admi nistration Form.
