f. This error occurs when the signaling l ink associated with a BRI endpo int
has too much link establishment related traffic. This could occ ur if the
signaling link is bou ncing between assig ned and establis hed states.
Software will suspend activity to this end point for 75 minutes when the
endpoint is alarmed due to this problem (note that se rvice suspension
does not occur if the end point is an ASAI or Lucent adj unct). If this
problem persists, replac e the endpoint. If replac ing the endpoint d oes not
fix the problem, follow normal esc alation procedures.
g. This error occurs when the ASAI-ADJ or ATT-ADJ or LGATE-AJ or ATTE-AJ
message is not transmitted bec ause the PKT-CTRL (Packet Control Circuit
Pack) transmit buffers are exhausted. Frequent or p ersistent occurrence
of these events may indicate a hard ware problem or traffic overload on the
PKT-CTRL, the signaling link, or the ASAI or Lucent adjunct. Attemp t to
resolve the problem by following the repair proced ures for the PKT-CTRL.
If these attempts fail, the problem should be escalated because
re-engineering of the traffic on the PKT-CTRL, signaling link, or ad junct
may be necessary.
h. This error occurs when the ASAI message is not transmitted because the
transmit buffer for the ASAI link is full, causing t he link to be flow
controlled. Frequent or persistent oc currence of these events may ind icate
a hardware problem or traffic overload on the PKT-CTRL, the signaling link,
or the ASAI or Lucent adjunct. Attempt to resolve the problem by following
the repair procedures issu ed by the manufacturer of the ad junct. If these
attempts fail, the problem should be escalated bec ause re-engineering of
the traffic on the PKT-CTRL, signaling link, or adjunct may b e necessary.
i. This error indicates a problem with Layer 2 over the D-channel between
the switch and the endp oint. When this error occurs, an alarm is raised
against the station or adjunc t. Execute the test station extension short
command and p ay particular attention to the results of the BRI XID Test
(#628). If this test fails, follow the repair proc edure for Test #628.
j. This error indicates a problem with the B-c hannel connection b etween the
switch and the endp oint. When this error occurs, a warning alarm is raised
against the endpoint. Execut e the test station
<extension>
long
command, and p ay particular attention to the results of the BRI Remote
Loop Back Test (#627). If this test fails, follow the repair p rocedure for Test
#627.
k. This error occurs whenever the point-to-p oint signaling link to the end point
goes down (excep t when it goes down bec ause either the PKT-CTRL or
the PKT-BUS has failed or has been busied out b y system technician).
When this error occurs, an alarm is raised ag ainst the endpoint or adj unct.
Execute the test station
<extension>
short command and p ay particular
attention to the results of the Signaling Link Status Test (#626). If this test
fails, follow the repair proced ure for Test #626. The alarm is retired when
the signaling link is reestab lished to the endpoint or ad junct.
