Notes for Table 3-172:
1. At the administration terminal, bus yout the affected port, and run a Long
Test Sequence. Observe the test results. If any tests fail, refer to the
description of the tests an d the associated error c odes. Release the port.
If users continue to report troubles , check for other errors and mak e test
calls to determine whether the p roblem should be esc alated or referred to
the CO.
2. At the administration terminal, bus yout the affected port, and run a Long
Test Sequence. If Dial Tone Test #0 passes, ignore this error. Release the
port.
3. At the administration terminal, bus yout the affected port, and run a Long
Test Sequence. If CO Demand Diagnostic Test #3 passes and this error
keeps occurring , refer problems to CO. Release the port.
4. If the error count associated with thi s error type is very high (that is, 255)
and all tests pass, then either the reverse c urrent detector is defe ctive or
the CO line is noisy. If the CO line is suspected, Tip and Ring observations
should be made. If the line is determined to b e noisy, the problem should
be referred to the CO. If the reverse current d etector is defective , ignore
this error.

Always investigate tests in the order they are p resented in the table b elow when
inspecting errors in the system. By clearing error c odes associated with t he
NPE
Crosstalk Test,
for example, you may also clear errors gene rated from other tests
in the testing sequenc e.
3585 57424 No loop current on outg oing call. This error
occurs on attempt to seize a loop or
ground-start trunk for an outgoing call. An
error occurs if loop current is not detected or
the caller hangs up before it is detected.
