12 Volt Power Supply Test (#701)
This test is nondestructive. The purpose of the t est is to diagnose the 12 volt
power supply unit in the TN798 Processor circuit pack. No erase and
write-to-memory operations are started or verified during the test. The contents of
flash memory and of the memory ca rd should not be c hanged.
The test turns on the power supply and verifies that 12 volt power app ears by
reading the control regis ter in the Processor circuit pac k. After the power supp ly
is turned on, the maintenance software waits fo r three seconds before verifying
the appearance of 12 volt p ower. After the 12 volt power supp ly can be turned on
and verified, the test turns the p ower supply off and then ver ifies that the power is
off. The control register is read again for the veri fication.
If, while this test is running, an app lication attempts to erase or write a fl ash
memory or a memory card, this test remains active, and the app lication is barred.
