The following example shows a typic al vector event report.

display initcauses
The display initcauses c ommand displays a history of recovery steps taken by
the system. Each time the system performs some typ e of recovery (due to user
request or a hardware or software prob lem), the recovery information is stored.
The software error log also contains information p ertaining to restarts. If a reset 4
(reboot) occurs, the software error log is also be stored. Information in the
software error log should be used in conjunction with info rmation in the initcauses
log.
The history of the last 16 restarts performed b y the system will be recorded to the
initcauses buffer in chronolog ical order. This buffer fills an entire sc reen with
information if it is completely full. Power failures in the p rocessor complex wip e
out the entire initcauses buffer.
Event Type A number from 50000 to 50999 that identifies what typ e of vector event
occurred.

vector number and step number associated with th e event. If in the
format “Split

number”

such as “Split 2”, this ind icates the split numb er.
Event Data 2 Additional data c oncerning the event encod ed as a hex number.
First Occur The date and time when the vector event first oc curred.
Last Occur The date and time when the vector event last o ccurred.
Evnt Cnt The total number of times, up to 255, that vector events of this type
have occurred.
