Procedures for Restoring the PMS Printer Link
1. Determine the status of the PMS Printer Link.
Enter status journal-printer wakeup-log|pms-log command and make
sure that the journal printer link is not b usied out for maintenance. If the
link is down, then continue to the next step .
2. Where does the journal printer link connec t?
Enter display syst em hospitality and find out the d estinations of the PMS
Printe r Link .
3. Determine the status of the data extension.
Enter status data extension command and verify whether t he data
extension is in the in-service/idle state . If the data extension is NOT
available, then look for the extension numbe r in Alt Name field of
Hardw are Err or Log . Refe r to XXX- BD (Co mmon Po rt Ci rcuit Pack )
Maintenance documentatio n for resolutions.
4. Is a data channel on the Processor circ uit pack in the in-servic e/idle state?
Enter list data command and fi nd out the extension numbers of d ata
channels on Processor circuit p ack. Enter status data extension
command and make sure that at lea st one data channel is in the
in-service/idle state. If no d ata channel is available, look for
DATA-CHL/DATA-CON/DATA-BD errors in the Error Log. If present, refer to
“DATA-BD”Maintenance documentation.
5. Is the external printer devic e available?
Make sure that the printer devic e is ON-LINE and ready for service. Che ck
the physical connec tivity between Data Module and the printer devic e.
It is recommended that you b usyout the PMS Printer Link before executing
maintenance tests over objec ts composing the PMS Printer Link. If the PMS
Printer Link is busied out, then all PMS Printer Link maintenance actions are
deactivated. The interferenc e to tests of other MOs is off.
