This command may be par ticularly useful for:

■Improved control over cu stomer requests. For example, to suspend

off-board DS1 alarms temporarily for c ustomers that periodic ally

disconnect DS1 trunks for testing or other business-related purp oses.

■Improved control over external (non -Lucent) problems suc h as

suspending off-b oard DS1 alarms before a customer resolves fac ility

problems (for example, a T1 trunk that has d eveloped an off-board

condition).

■Improved control over internal (Luc ent) problems that c annot be resolved

immediately. For example, the command c an be used to suspend Alarm

Origination for a bad c ircuit pack d etected late Friday nig ht and dispatc h

personnel cannot respond until Monday.

enable synchronization-switch

This command re-enables automatic clock switching or returns the maintenance

subsystem back to the n ormal state. The synchronization subsystem c onsists of

the TDM bus c loc k, DS1 trunk boar d, an d SPE-re side nt mai nten ance and

administration software and provid es error free digital communic ation between

the switch and other PBXs, COs, or customer-p remise equipment (CPE).
