save announcements
This command copies announ cement data from the announcement b oard to the
MSS. The Card-Mem stores announcements for the system. By default,
announcement data writes to the MSS devic e in a simplex processor (SPE)
system.
If there integrated announcement b oards exist, this command is allowed. The
system denies the save announcement command if no anno uncement data
modules and no NETCON data modules are ad ministered.

If no announcement data modu le is administered, the system d enies the
command.
If the announcement data modu le port is out of service or ac tive
(performing an announc ement playback), the s ystem denies the
command.
If no announcements are on the board or a user is in an integrated
announcements session, the system denies the command.
If the board is currently up loading or downlo ading, the system denies the
command. Users cannot rec ord integrated annou ncements after the save
announcements command commenc es even though 15 channels are
available for announcement p layback (one is reserved fo r uploading and
downloading).
The save announcements command will no t be allowed if the Mass
Storage System (MSS) is in use. The MSS may be in use by either another
user or by maintenance.
The standby processor must b e in service with shadowin g enabled, so
that the system can save announcement s to the standby proc essor.
In case of a failure, technicians make announcement files consistent
across both MSS devices. Files become inconsistent due to hardware
failures or spontaneous processor interchanges. If announce ment files are
