1. The TN750 Announcement circuit pac k retains all integrated
announcements
as long as the circuit p ack has power
. For this reason,
whenever there is a problem with either the Announc ement circuit pac k or
an Announcement Port that may require the circ uit pack to be reset, it is
always best to try to reset the circuit p ack via the reset board PCSS
command first. If that does no t work, replace the circ uit pack.
Announcements are preserved through a software reset, but they are
lost when the circuit pack is reseated.
2. If a customer has announcements on the Announcement circuit pack,
then announcements must be saved on the memory card to ensure
that they are not lost. This should be done as soon as the
announcements are recorded on the circuit pac k (or whenever they are
changed), assuming that the circuit pac k is in proper working order (see
Note).
NOTE:
Unlik e tran slati ons, a nnou ncem ents a re NEVER au tomat ical ly sav ed
to the memory card.
3. The save announcements command replaces the announcement file on
the memory card. Care must be taken n ot to mistakenly enter this
command and, as a result, d estroy a valid file on the memory c ard.
4. The restore announcements command replaces the Announcement
circuit pack sp eech memory with the announc ement file on the memory
card. Care must be taken not to mistaken ly enter this command,
destroying valid sp eech memory, especially if the memor y card does not
have a valid announcement file on it.
5. Whenever the Announcement circuit p ack is replaced , announcements
must always be rerecorded or d ownloaded to the new c ircuit pack.
Otherwise, call processing is not able to use the pac k.
6. If announcement speech me mory is corrupted, announc ements should
not be saved [that is, if th e Announcement Checksum Test (#209) fails, or
if the speech sounds c orrupted on pl ayback]. This can ruin a g ood
announcement file on the memory card and potentially c ause
errors/alarms on any circuit pac k to which the new file is download ed.
However, if the customer does not have a v alid announcement file on the
memory card, announcements can be saved in an effort to t ry to retain
some of them (all of the announcements record ed may not be corru pted).
7. Due to a hardware fault in the TN750 announcement board , the following
sequence of events my cau se the announcement file to beco me corrupted
and unusable:
Fill the board with recorded announcements.
Delete the last few announcements record ed.
Re-record the announcements deleted .
