If the announcement file bec omes corrupted, the only so lution is to
re-record all announcements. To do this, follow these step s:
a. Remove the announcement board.
b. Remove the tape cartridg e from the tape drive. Do this so that
announcements are not automatically restored from tape.
c. Re-insert the announcement board .
d. Re-record all announcements.
e. Insert the tape cartrid ge in the tape drive.
f. Issue the save announcements command to save all the
announcements on the tape.
This hardware fault is fixed in the TN750B announcement board . However,
the TN750B board will not automatically c orrect an announcement file
which has previously been c orrupted b y a TN750 board. The only way to
correct an announcement file c orrupted by the TN750 board is to follow
the steps above.
Announcement Administration
A brief descrip tion of the integrated announc ement administration is give n here
to aid in troubleshooting the Ann ouncement circuit p ack and its por ts. In many
cases, it is necessary to rec ord, play back , and/or delete announc ements to
resolve an alarm. It may also be necessa ry to save and restore announcements
as part of the maintenance proc edures. For a complete descr iption of integrated

Announcement Session
Announcements can be rec orded, played back, and d eleted from an
announcement session. A station’s COS needs to inc lude console p ermissions in
order for that station to be ab le to enter an announcement session. To enter an
announcement session, go off-hook on a sta tion that has console permissions
and enter the approp riate Feature Access Code (FAC), administered as
Announcement access c ode on the FACs form. Dial tone should be retur ned at
this point. Enter the extension of the announcement that need s to be recorded ,
deleted, or played back. Again, d ial tone should be heard . To record an
announcement, press station keyp ad digit 1, rec ord after the tone, and hang up
when done. To play back an announcement, p ress 2. To delete an
announcement, press 3 (confir mation tone is given if the delete worked ).
Announcements can also b e played bac k by simply callin g the announcement
extension associated with them.
