Maintenance Commands
This chapter provides ad ditional trouble-clearing information for resolving both
system-alarmed and user-rep orted troubles. This chapter sup plements the
information found in Chapter 3, ‘‘Maintenance Ob jects’’. The maintenance
commands are used to c ontrol, test, and obtain information assoc iated with
maintenance objects (MOs). The com mands require the use of the administration
terminal or remote Initialization and Ad ministration System (INADS) interface and
a valid login and p assword.
For Maintenance Objects and Maintenance Commands for the DEFINITY
Wireless Business System (DWBS), refer to the appropriate maintenance
documentation that acc ompanies the DWBS.

System Command Structure

System commands are standard word s an d phrases instructing the system to
perform a speci fic function. The commands are arrang ed in a hierarchy of
keywords; that is, enter 1 command to go to a different level. The commands
contain 3 parts: ACTION, OBJECT, and QUALIFIER.
ACTION is the first part of the command. When command: appea rs on the
screen. The ACTION specifies the operat ion desired. Examples includ e
add, duplicate, change, remove, display, list, and save.
OBJECT is the second part of the command and specifies the p articular
object to be ad ministered. Some typical entries are hunt-group,
coverage path, and station.
